the show
Kylee took me to the show on friday, my first time in forever, um, we saw cows with long silky golden hair and other ones with ringlets on their faces. Dogs Afghans, pitbulls, and pointers on show and giant prissy, pretty horses and huge golden pigs with snuffling golden babies. I wanted one of each, especially the pig, you could just tuck a little piglet into your bag, et voila, baby golden pig from heaven, perhaps the perfect distraction.

here's something...
Though, you know what they say, if you haven't got anything nice to say...
I woke up saturday morning to no hot water, and when I went to the back of our flat to the laundry, the washing machine had been mugged for it's coin box. So after schlepping to My Beautiful Laundrette to sit and stare forlornly at our clothes being faded and shrunken, I was just about ready to take on the day.
Thank god for friends to see. After hanging out in the park with Annie and Sailor I was waiting for the tram, witness to some random act of violence. The guy next to me was attacked by a stranger, punched in the face and had his nose broken and pouring blood. Out of the four people at the tram stop, I was the only person who bothered to even acknowledge it. I walked him to the medical centre. If I were to be punched in the face by a stranger, I'd hope someone might bother to help me.
Then the tram was 40 mins late as it had hit a cyclist. When I got home there was stinking cat shit in the corridor.
Anyway, I had a very nice dinner with Paul & Lydia. Looked at Jupiter through the telescope and played wii bowling, so all is not entirely miserable. Just a little bit, eh.

pining
I haven't been coming here much lately... If I could stop pining about a camera that died in Paris we may just move on and put something of interest here. Not yet though.
Sorry.
Sorry.

Things...
Things making me happy...
Susan Jacobs at Utopian Slumps. Ubiquitous Slopes. I loved this, it also wins some prize for best Slumps title so far.
I liked West Space. Natalie Ryan's white noise, Belle Bassin's drawing and Rob McLeish's diving board.
Furniture stacking at Studio 18 at Gertrude, I can't seem to find the artist's name on the website, But I loved her work.
Warm nights, magnolias, the smell of jasmine and spring blossoms walking home through the park at night.
All you people I keep running into. It's nice to see you.
I'm going to Sydney this afternoon but maybe see you soon.

we qualified for the picnic olympics after lots of training...
catacombs deep underground with piles of human bones
the quai branley museum: oooh crystal skulls, sepic heads and feathery masks and all sorts of ethnological hoarded wonders in an annoyingly laid out museum with walls of hanging gardens...
louvre
palais de tokyo
our local park buttes chamount with faux loggy steps and fences of my dreams, leading up to a knockout view across the city...
communist party headquarters in Belleville ooh aah special building
pere lachaise
belleville beers
collette and other fancy shops and the galeries lafayette food court mmmmmm
flea markets in st ouen and beleville and the marais...
history museum
versailles palace and rowing on the grand canal
petit palais porcelain monkey parties and other weird shiny stuff
veitnamese food
a christian band was playing on the base of sacre couer so we walked to the other side of the hill for our olympic picnic
many other things too like walking around the outside of famous things and marveling at just how much a beer can cost...

hi
I'm back in Melbourne. Possibly a little bit of adjusting to do. Along with joyful things like finding work and a house and a purpose. It's not summer in Paris anymore. Sadly.
