I am totally in love with the houses in The Netherlands. It's not hard to be. Such amazing details everywhere. These are from a ride around the block. My favourite is the mirrored diamond peek hole door. But there are many.

around the corner

We have an exhibition here in two weeks time, part of a project called Vlaknaast, meaning 'just off' which I think translates as around the corner. Utilizing public and private spaces. I am hoping to secure a handsome little boat to exhibit my latest foray into tedious processes, hand-stitched flags. That'd be nice.

So I am busily stitching, interspersed with walks along the harbours and canals happily staring at boats and flags and piles of rope. I wonder how long the sheer pleasure of looking at a new world can last?

We are surrounded by boats here, with all these canals. I love them, and the idea of them. You see glimpses of people on their boats, little old ladies having cups of tea, drunken parties, and my favourite so far, a leopard print upholstered booth extending down to an equally leopard print queen sized bed, with three very large hairy men drinking beer in the back. You know, like a station wagon, but a boat...
I wanted to take a picture but I was afraid...

Only vaguely related, but here is a tattooed man-doll in stripey bathing trunks. I think they are quite special.

Yes, they... If you like him, there are more of them here. Made by a lady named um, I forget, but follow the link, she also makes robots...
