westgarth

i went to the opening of the refurbished westgarth cinema last night... i saw a bit of red carpet, spotlights, some shiny shiny dresses, some heavy make up and some sorta famous people...

i love the westgarth... it doesn't smell like an old garage anymore either... they have comfy chairs and left us mini cupcakes and champagne...

i also saw the book of revelation... i like tom long... i saw him... handsome... i don't love "erotic" films that feature contemporary dance (...he cannot speak of his trauma, he is expressing himself through dance, he is crawling across the floor holding his head in his hands...) and loads of drama voice*TM (i understand it's your instrument but can you stop playing it with such smug self-satisfaction) there were also implausable scenarios and vague lapses in the story, montages and voice-overs...

on a positive note, i like films made in melbourne... look! it's dumpling town! look! it's three ladies in black hooded capes and... well nah...

i also saw the wonderful ceiling with little bright art-deco pac-men munching their way across the roof... and that would be a highlight, along with the cigarette girl with trays of musk sticks... mmm cigars... mmmm fishnets... i think there may still be one left in adams pocket...

not anymore... MWAHHAHAHA!

he took this photo of the lovely roof... see... pac-men...
