Language, it's a virus...

House hunting in german. I don't really understand...
Google translations end up with gems like 'the bathroom has been recently rehabilitated'.
We have established a few facts... There are lots of places. Adam's dream of having a coal-fired oven to feed is slipping away with the times and efficient central heating... Flats are overwhelmingly cheaper than Melbourne. It's very hard to communicate, with limited and impractical language skills. Well duh...

I'm much better at remembering words like sommersprosse which are freckles, summer spots!
and kopfkissen which is a pillow, perhaps because a pillow kisses your kopf all night long, but really it just means head cushion. Romantic germans.

Ich bin schläfrig... or just Ich schläfrig?

Yes we have done a bit of work. I have been painting. Viva schlafe klub?
I know I've got my tenses and timing all wrong. That's part of the reason we are having such trouble... OK

studious

On the high notes. So many varieties of delicious lebkuchen to try... Delicious little brown cakey spicy biscuits after my heart... Ginormous beers. I have a LOVELY new coat that is warm and pleasing despite the steadily falling temperature. The kids are walking the streets with lanterns in some kind of it's dark and cold, but life is alright, ritual. And it is.

hi you two, simon left me a note saying that you are in berlin and that i should check out your blog which i did now. unfortunately, i don't know of a house for you but will keep my eyes open for one. do you need much space? needs it be a place for the 2 of you only or is a shared house okay, too? coal heating - seems romantic but if you think it's fresh outside now, wait til january :) if you need a german speaker to help you conversing with landlords and -ladies, i am one and happy to help.

right, and to make life much better: good coffee: spazio in kreuzbergstraße, opposite the park. climp the monument in twilight and you'll get a rewarding and windy overview of berlin at her best. close to there, a tiny café called "dolce" on the corner of großbeerenstr. and hagelberger str. which has the best cakes in town, the coffees are also beautiful. around the corner in hagelberger str.: the best pizza slices for cheap. place is called "dolce pizza".

right! i hope everything goeth well for you two, skype me at animaldelmar or go to www.animaldelmar.blogspot.com and leave me a comment if you want to meet up for some jagertee...

hey hey, very good! the first thing to do, if you like, is to come to a party tomorrow! my friends gunnar, suse, tjane and i are celebrating our birthdays at golgatha biergarten und tanzbar which is in viktoriapark. get theeselves to katzbachstraße (s/u yorckstr.) and enter the park opposite monumentenstraße. you see a chain of fairy lights - follow that and you get to the biergarten where there will be wein, weib und gesang. if you can't make it, i will just give you a ring on sunday!

It sounds wonderful Dell, despite language probs. I had to leave Germany after 2 months cause I got a headache all the time...I could understand but not speak and it drove me mad.
But soon will come the Christmas Markets...they are wonderful...lights in the snow and gluhwhein and medieval costumes...
