It takes awhile to ride home through the back streets of Brunswick when you allow for the distraction of fig eyes. There is an abundance of ripe figs hanging in the streets. I made a small batch of fig and vanilla jam last night. Maybe there will be more this weekend.

i love figs. in Italy I learned to saute figs with olive oil, balsamic, fresh sage, and pancetta and eating over fresh cheese raviolis. so so good.
I just read that as 'In Italy I learned to salute figs' ! I might have to do some fig scouting round Brunswick too, Yum.
saluting would be a good idea. I forgot the carmelized red onions.
