Beekeeping Festival

I will get off the bee trip soon. But first! We went to a beekeeping festival yesterday at the Slovenian Social Club in Digger's Rest. The Social Club is the kind of place I love to stumble upon. A bar and dining hall and dance floor featuring amazing stuff to look at including a couple of giant Stag's heads and a few baby deer, many traditional handicrafts on show, paintings of the mother country and a businesslike line up of lunch ladies piling plates high with meat and potatoes.







There were honey extraction demonstrations, tastings and exhibits. We tried Mead, honey liquor, Slovenian beer, honey joys, sugar gum, orange blossom and ti-tree honey. We came away with some more delicious honey too.
