electric dreams
It's seven AM and I have been awake for at least 4 hours. We've been having these amazing thunderstorms in the night. The air is all fresh and cool and bright with lightning. Hard to get back to sleep though.
It's been a fun week, way too busy to blog. Baking self-saucing chocolate pudding (mmm dutch cocoa) smoking spliffs, drinking beer and dinking brookie all over our pretty little town.
We leave for the beach today. Bye pretty little toy town. It has been fun.

Vlaknaast2
'Worlds Away' Dell Stewart & 'The Other Side' Adam Cruickshank
'Worlds Away' was installed on a small wooden sloop 'Oku Den' moored in the canal near the Ruitensteiger. 'The Other Side' was installed in a shop window around the corner on Vorstraat 420. In parallel with the exhibition, a multiple of ten works are circulated for sale via the website.

Pictures of Adam's work are on his website here & on sleepclub.

around the corner

We have an exhibition here in two weeks time, part of a project called Vlaknaast, meaning 'just off' which I think translates as around the corner. Utilizing public and private spaces. I am hoping to secure a handsome little boat to exhibit my latest foray into tedious processes, hand-stitched flags. That'd be nice.
So I am busily stitching, interspersed with walks along the harbours and canals happily staring at boats and flags and piles of rope. I wonder how long the sheer pleasure of looking at a new world can last?
