Mandarin

In the short time I have, I'm learning to weave, and watching the weavers. I could spend days just picking colours, it's all a great pleasure. I have to put the brakes on a bit, my head runs away with many plans of things to make – it's such slow work –and there is so little time.

There is a sea of yellow and orange yarn on the tables for the John Olsen work on the loom, it's almost finished. I'll miss all that colour.

Captain Robbo

My new tapestry bag by Captain Robbo AKA Katy Robinson. I love this thing for many reasons. Twisty blue ropes. Stitches. Cloudy skies. A spot of fishing. A handy backpack, a revelation after years of loathing them and their ugly sporty designs in new age fabrics with velcro, zips and toggles.
And, even better, a friend made it. Will she be making more? I don't know, but I think she should. They are very good.
