Hot Chocolate Log Mug

It is getting to be the weather for it. We had a picnic in the gardens on Saturday, and after hours outdoors, this was just what I needed. I made this mug awhile ago, but it is perfect for this. I believe there is another one or two like it at Mr Kitly. Hope you've had a lovely easter break.

Easter

For me means camping. There were very few chocolate eggs, except perhaps some misshapen home made ones rolled in hundreds and thousands, and probably some fudge and home-made hot-crossed buns (curse our garage house with no oven, I want to make buns!)

We had epic fishing trips and drives in the back of the Landrover with giant eskies, castnets and crab pots or out on dusty roads to a station with dry riverbeds and cattle. Mass camping in tarp cities near some inlet and some crocodiles.

So, I am very happy to be driving off to the farm today for a night near a campfire and an epic egg hunt tomorrow.

Happy Easter!

egg hunt!

Um, we got all grown up and bought a BBQ! Thanks to Bird who delivered us to the land of the superstores in her teacher's wagon. We christened it tonight with haloumi mushroom skewers and smokey tofu and some other delicious things. It has just tripled our cooking surfaces, and we are pondering baking cakes* in it all ready.

We had Good Friday breaky in the ladies' backyard, with very special dyed picture eggs and bacon and buns and an egg hunt, where an excitable Sailor uncovered 30 eggs. I have had a belly ache for days, but still I am hoping Adam cracks open his elegant rabbit soon.

*No we don't miss having an oven one little bit. We have both experimented with steamed cake-type puddings, me a dark choclate number, and he a Malaysian coconut cake, to varying degrees of success.
