Brownie

I was going to gloat about how I had made a second batch of trotski and ash fruit and nut brownies and how good that was. I had a big container of them to take for a week of house sitting in Kew.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be. When we went out to the supermarket for supplies the little snuffley piglet of a bulldog found them inside my bag and managed to drag them out, open the container and eat them all. WAH! Dark chocolate is poison for dogs, so instead of a cup of tea and a brownie on our first night we had an evening of worry and dog vomit ending up in a drive to animal emergency at midnight.

She is fine. Lucky she's so lovable. Little stinker.

Christmas Bat Pig

We have just got home from dog-sitting this little stinker. She breaks my heart with her shadowing and her snorting and snuffling and little bat ears. She even watched over our wine glasses while we did some spa-sitting, which was also part of the job.

merry merry merry...

... and a little sleepy and possibly a little bit peckish, fer reals, is there anything else delicious we could eat??? Did we eat all the fishes and all the (no longer) free-ranging chickens and all of puddings and all the gingerbread and really ALL the pies?

YES WE DID.

Is there more beer? NO! But you found a bottle of Baileys (FOUND!) and now we will probably drink it. It's kind of still christmas. It tastes like christmas.

We are house-sitting the ranch up here in thornbury. Is nice. One question, why aren't there chickens to feed? I need a task and the cat is not so interested in the interlopers unless it's dinnertime...

when i say bored, i mean bored in the nicest possible way.
like; i might just go for another 2 hour walk along this lonesome, wild beach to stare at some hills and some water. or maybe jump on the trampoline. or stand in the wind on a hillside and walk down to the end of the runway and see the planes flying overhead or swim in the cold, cold sea.

wellington is a very pretty town.
