We've had a month of winter ills, but feeling a little better the last two days. Bring on the spring clean, I need it, and so does the house.

One
One feels like a big thing, reflecting on what has happened in a year with a brand new person around. Life is sweeter with company, though I get nothing done.

All is full of love
Some pictures from a party some time ago, I am behind with most things. Balloons, bellies and cake faces.

Phew
The weekend was good, and busy. It almost feels like a rest to go back to work, it's just simpler at work. My life is a little crazy with things at the moment.
It was Rachael's birthday over the weekend, and we have been busily plotting things to do in order to celebrate her. A cake, a feast, a funny collaborative handmade present, which took a lot of meeting and relaying bits and pieces between 5 of us, and a whole lot of head-scratching and problem solving for me.
I got to try my horseradish on some unsuspecting punters, sorry Rama! I did mean to danger label it that morning – but in between candying cumquats, baking meringues and a filo pilaf pie – I forgot. Whoops. It does have a horsey kick to it. The birthday party was lovely, and the workshops on Saturday were too. I look forward to showing you some funny and pretty lovely animations. It was a real pleasure hanging out for the day in the Craft Victoria reading library.
Photos soon, all going well.

Party all the time
It was a big week for parties. I am already suffering a bit, in a cheerful way. What's behind the tinsel curtain? A slushie Machine! Dowsed with homemade vodka!

And this is at West Space. A heaving table of food. And a Ping Pong tournament. And a lot of fun.

Sarah, Sarah.

It is Sarah's birthday, and Saturday night we were celebrating.
Another event styled to perfection, with flowers provided to pin to your lapel and some amazing Turkish delight. Yum!
The dress code was sparkley or sharp. I surprised myself by having absolutely nothing sparkley to wear, so I settled for an angular and boxy kimono instead. Somebody said I must be grown up, I don't think that's it. I dream of a ridiculously sparkley cardigan, I just don't own it. It was also hot, so we drank lots of champagne. Ouch.

All of the people looked great. Then the fez came out.

Happy birthday gorgeous girl!

good mornin bright eyes
a thirtieth birthday party for a woman who looks not a day over 22 apart from her 'to die for' deep and pooly knowing eyes... i think she may just be the most beautiful woman IN THE WORLD.
it was in the woods. a ukranian scout hall? a ufo? a dance floor from hell. a stage. a room full of new people. who seem lovely. but scary. i am shy. I AM. there was an impenetrable circle around the fire. but it worked quite nice in the end. i bonded with this bastard who makes too much sense to me in a 'i know you cause i'm like you and yes i like you'. i danced like a motherfucker.
after all that reckless, funny, and hot hot dancin with all those lovely but coupley types i had trouble gettin my head out of the gutter all the way home. it doesn't help when you're in a car full of hot single ladies bemoaning the lack of handsome men who don't also have amazing beautiful women. i got to thinking of a man who describes me as infectious and flighty. like bird flu. baton down the hatches kiddo.
after the loverly alex and nadine dropped us back in my neighbourhood brookie and i rolled up to hoops's house... i knocked on the door in a sorry state. as she took in the damage i indicated the red bag in my hands and asked if i could please move in. to her credit she said yes... making some comment about us looking broken. i said i was actually going for glamour and i'd appreciate her not being so dissmissive of my efforts. but she took us in and cooked us a four course dinner and i asked her to marry me... because her wontons win...
a little postscript.
careful what you look at... in my achey body state i just saw a pretty girls self portrait with this poem under it... methinks it would actually be worse if she could spell...
The withered angel with a hiden truth.
Silent as she acends
Trapped in a everlasting misery....
it goes on, but i will leave it at that.

a thousand parties
ronan said he felt like he had been alive for thousands of years and had thousands more still to go. turtle.
I have always felt like I DON’T HAVE MUCH TIME. regardless of how it pans out, it certainly affects the way I do things.
maybe once I have been alive running around like a crazy thing for a thousand years I will be able to slow down and take it all in…
anyway. on the weekend of a thousand parties, I saw a lot of art. I had plans for sleep and plans for work. both of which were undermined by my un-quenching desire for a hangover. yes, I love that shit.
ALSO I had important stuff like friends leaving, & friends returning. oh beautiful andrea, I LARVE YOU... but I pity the poor man who witnessed our reunion, shouty crying ooooaaahhing girls.
there were also hot-tub parties and hours & hours on the dance-floor and horrible combinations of nasty nasty alcohol to attend to.
I developed a bit of a new crush on that dancefloor. but also realized there is not one of my current crushes that I actually want to sleep with. which is a crying shame. ‘cause that would be nice right now.
no. REALLY all I have a hankering for is a hot bath and some big brother. oh yeah, i still like the idea of a miniature donkey… SEE.

that baby bear and his bottle is damn cute too. but I saw Werner Herzog’s ‘grizzly man’. did you?
