cool

i was trying to distract sailor from the fact his parents had just left, we were looking for the cat. but no Louis Austin to be found. instead a wee bird landed on my head, which was way cooler.

i was holding a baby with a bird on my head.

that's pretty amazing.

it didn't seem to want to leave, i reached up and it jumped on my hand. then proceeded to make itself at home on my shoulder after i put sailor down. so there you go. me & the bird.

lookit my new birdie friend

it liked my hair and was thinking on moving in. or stealing some for it's golden nest. it only panicked a bit when sailor started squealing and trying to grab at it or poke it with a stick. otherwise i think he might've stayed forever.

so, for my next trick...

my next trick

yes i know. my hair does look like a birds nest. BUT ALSO, i am one with the creatures and the flying ducks on the wall.

Damp

I have caught glimpses of Damp collective over the years, from broken bottles and opening fights at 200 Gertrude street to disco tiolets at tbc. I think I like em. There you have it. In my thoroughly un-researched and unprofessional opinion.

Anyways, i liked this first show at Utopian Slumps.

expect even better

I really liked this washing machine. Though the sentiment just about sums up Relentless Optimism* for me...

'Expect Even Better' James Lynch.

expect even better
Rob McHaffie's good, though i doubt anything he did could please me more than this particular painting. I LOVE IT. look at it! go on!

Enough from me... go see it.

*Opening tonight Carlton Hotel.

nice tree

"Royal Pine Tree" Rosemarie Fiore

It was constructed out of 5,500 Royal Pine car freshners, rebar and a 35 foot telephone pole. It had a very strong odor.

mmmm piney...

I get around

We had a roadtrip to bunnings and NORTHLAND to confirm Simon's theory that there are more fat people in shopping centres...
It would seem it's true.
While we were there we ate hot chips and cookies and bacon & egg rolls. CAREFUL PEOPLE.

Is it that easy? SIMON?

Sunday I visited the Camberwell market for the first time in years. The last time Brookie and I sold her old clothes from the boot of the car. It rained & rained. I made chocolate fudge and cowboy chews and sold them undercover as we found out it was illegal... I also scored 50 bucks for an old toy i found in a skip the night before... I was RICH, baby...

The best thing I saw was a 12 year old girl playing nirvana covers on her electric guitar. The saddest was a lost, blind, old dog looking for her family in the heat and crowds...

The train was so full coming back to the city, my new bromeliads nearly died.

That's why train travel can make you angry.
It isn't the New York SUBWAY.
These travelers could be coming to get you...
I'd watch out Bill Sullivan... Trains make people angry. I found these photos yesterday afternoon when i got home, after my Sandringham train had been delayed both ways, waiting an extra hour in that filthy heat...

Grrrrrr...

who ate all the pies

brookie was bemoaning the fact that she always gets stuck with pie-eating men. she has been a vegetarian forever.

i don't eat meatpies, but i LOVE bacon, roast lamb/beef/pork/chicken, and tender, aged, steak makes me very happy, but i try to go for quality over quantity... happy animals over ground up bits of factory meat. that said i don't mind some good sausages*

*do you hear me sausage club? or jonathan of collingwood?

'are they all like that?' she asked.

'nuh, look at poor vego adam and ed, stuck with sausage-eating dell and rachael...'

at this point i think we both spilled beer on ourselves...
