Fudge

When Pene said she was in Strahan for her birthday I had one word for her. Fudge. It's one of those things that stays with you. My first visit was when I was 12, with my Aunt Pene. We were driving around the west coast of Tasmania, walking up mountains and through forests. The fudge shop at Strahan with it's giant bricks of fudge which they carved hunks off of before your hungry eyes, was truly something to remember. I have been back there twice since, though it has been a long time. So I was extra excited this morning when I got to work to a present all the way from Strahan. OHMYGOD. So creamy and delicious. YUM.
Also the buckwheat honey is amazing, and extra special thanks from an aspiring wild beekeeper...
Whose birthday is this?
Thanks Pene!

postie!

I was at the post office early picking up a parcel from Canada and I've been smiling all morning as my lovely andrea has made me a dress and i love it. YOU so clever lady...

I also have a new gorilla dangling round my neck and peanut butter truffles to munch on while i TRY to make some art...

I have made a new leather purse, a new scarf and a vest, but that's beside the point... I really MUST MAKE make some ART...

well. wow.

here we are again. my life is in total upheaval. actually, has been for years but even MORE SO lately. jonathan keeps promising breakthroughs. but, to quote ms rachael hooper, she of the 'big gay art hand' ...

"jonathan cainer is too busy to be right all the time..."

right now i really want a little normal. do you have some to spare?
because this week i got nothing useful done, i fretted, i cried, i fought and i also had a fever.
BUT then... many good things happened.

the most glamourous lady i love came home to visit. we held hands and gossiped and cried and missed each other.
my friend rama left on a big exiting adventure to challenge her title of 'IMPROVISING CHAMPION OF THE WORLD' ... you know theatre sports... GO dramaRAMA!
I wore the lounging leopard bubble skirt i made, to make me happy. it worked for awhile.

lounging leopards

Pat cooked me delicious soup.
my SO CLEVER friend penelope durstan gave me a pile of delightful angora gloves and scarves and goodies that she made. I AM A LUCKY warm ducky... so very good. you too could buy a pair of her SOFT warm sloves at douglas and hope on brunswick street or the lovely alice euphemia...

they're real good to warm your homeless hopeless heart... i mean hands.

i do hope YOU are good.
