i have been awake for hours. the city has noise. which i notice when i am not sleeping like a drugged marsupial. or a log.

things to look out for this week. i am selfish so it's all about me.

a sailor day. a date for cake? a film? a job?

a day with both of my emmas.

the hospital for dogs and horses is just up the road on brunswick street, very handy for the horse party 'all the horses parties' from 9 til late tomorrow at the old colonial.

highlights, or nine kinds of cheese

I spent two and a half hours on public transport today, sometimes that gives me the blues… what made it ok was some of the people I saw were really good. high on the list was Irina who convinced me to stick around for dinner and try her Russian mushroom soup. MY GOD am I glad I did that. YUM.

highlights from my weekend, were adam, and adam taking Friday off to hangout with me. VERY GOOD MAN. bagels for breakkie. hanging out. then the party at drews house. a room full of favourites can be overwhelming for a girl. especially a drunk one. but that’s ok. we all survived. and I LOVED that party… even though I shudder at the thought of me playing with the tranquilizers. besides, at the time I had fun.

chutney club was on Sunday, and I still am very happy to have it. sitting around with a bunch of mates with a huge selection of delicious cheeses, meats, crackers, wine, fruit and homemade chutney equals all kinds of good. bbq sauce too and eggplant pickle and my quince paste.



yeah, life is sweet.

I also booked my ticket to qld. my mum turns fifty. I need at least a month in the tropics with her for that. goodbye Melbourne’s September. goodbye hayfever. hello sunshine.

now, countdown to September.

the archibald prize

somebody drew me for the archibald prize i think, good likeness.



this is in the kids exhibition. best thing there, apart from another kids drawing of a man with arms like a big scarf wrapped around his neck. also the big prize winner is ok.

enough of this big art talk. i have to cook soup. hot, sour tomato and lentil with coriander and lime...

hello you

i just walked home from the pub... a little bit tipsy... happy... cold... thoughtful... i walked past a magnolia tree in full blossom... i stopped and i stared... it's one of my favourites... and i thought, it must be almost spring!

but no, dell... winter is only half over... that is different...

it has snuck up on me this year... i guess i have had my head planted firmly in the clouds and the self absorbed quag of my own work, my own thing... winter has been warmed and charmed and troubled and FULL. it's a long way from over yet, but there is something about those blossoms that lifts me out of the fog...

i played with a handsome rabbit. i ate dinner with friends. i talked business. and went to the dole office.

BUT...

magnolias... i picked a bunch for my bedroom. they are hanging romantically over by my lamp. my heart is full. my head too. i hope you are having a good day. i am hanging out with sailor tomorrow. and i can't think of a better way to spend the day, than with that baby boy...

it's called treasure, it features a pile of bones and some bananas and some logs and some pretty pretty birds. if all goes to my crazy plan, there may also be a handmade book to look at and buy, along with some other stuff...

tim elsom is a jeweller, who makes covetable knuckles and fangs that i have seen and wanted, he is also launching new stuff...

so come and have a look. from 6- 8pm at ALICE EUPHEMIA, shop 6 cathedral arcade, 31 swanston street, or enter off flinders lane.

i am sick and stressed and unhappy with myself so will be a barrel of laughs... especially after an allnight, working and worrying... NO SLEEP! CHAMPAGNE! CODRAL! SWEET!

oh, and besides, i have an exhibition of a few drawings and maybe a small book next week, thursday night at alice euphemia, shop 6 cathedral arcade (off flinders lane) and if i tell you all, you might come, and i may also be more inclined to finish it off instead of running away to some tropical paradise to hide... hmmm.

miss lovefoxxxx makes my heart beat slow in awe and wonder, she's a brazillian popstar... the band is CSS or canseidesersexy which means something like sick of being sexy in portugese... i love them. i know she looks six years old. she's not.
