So...

You know. It was hot again today. It's nice to have a day in the shop to escape from my own indecisive, running around, then disappearing down the drain studio days. I have been driven a little crazy by it. But whatever. Adam and I have put together another show. It opens in one week at C3. I haven't finished anything properly yet. Tomorrow is the day.
OMFG!
Tomorrow is the day.
Today however, was a very pleasant day. Like I said, in the shop in front of the fan, stitching a magpie and talking to nice people. Pene bought me a watermelon granita this afternoon. So. good. Then topped up with ginger beer which equals a cup full of happiness.
I've found my other summer drink. I usually rely on frozen coconut juice. Oh and speaking of summer drinks.
Icy plum wine which is also delicious with a splash of gin when you need it. I'm going to need it this weekend.

in the shop today

eh mugs...

It's been muggy. That is the reason I left Queensland. I hate the humidity. There are other reasons too, but I'll leave it at that. Today in the shop I had beads of sweat on my forehead and lip and no cool breeze for relief. And yesterday was basically hot, riding in the sun. It felt like summer had started already. Damn. I'm not ready. I might never be ready!
I am also quietly horrified that it is already almost November, as I realized today it's Melbourne Cup long weekend and the city will be full of drunken suits and fascinators. This weekend.
I need to make a big floppy sun hat to hide under.
I'm glad to be going to the country to visit the farm. Now, fingers crossed it won't rain so we can camp. The forecast is for thunderstorms so like I said, fingers crossed.

we are moving

It's horrible, though better than not even moving yesterday (Hottest day in Melbourne EVER)
I am still amazed at how many possessions fit into a house. See you on the other side.

frohe ostern bunnies

It's easter. I'm wearing angora socks, scarf and gloves... So I am basically being a bunny.

I have been all fake spring SLUMPS... post first signs of spring, it's actually colder and more miserable than it's been in months, snow, hail, sleet, wind...

There are still new leaves and budding flowers and even some peachy, cherry blossoms but I am feeling all cheated cause it's heavy rain forecast and it's arsch kalt.

It's also because I am driving myself crazy, unable to finish anything at the moment, and there are lots of things almost finished. It's really boring...

I can muster a little bit of cheer, as we are surrounded by trees covered in coloured eggs... but this easter is no picnic... sadly...

sunshine

After days of cabin fever inducing non-stop rain, we had a much needed sunny day, so dropped everything and went walk about. Along the canals and the river and Museum Insel, we decided to walk to the top of the Berliner Dom. It was a clear perfect day to look out over the little people below...

We went to the movies last night and saw Shwarze Shafe (black sheep) It was good, funny. In watching german movies, I still just pick up the swearwords. What that says about me and my language, I don't know. Something bad?

Ja, Ich habe kliene deutsche... and it's all filth...

these days...

We are shaking cocktails in a pickle jar and getting drunk on strange liquors and seeing more BIG art and getting excited...

Also eating pies, we made three pies in four days (granted one was a quiche, and one was sweet apfel for a dinner party) but mr biscuit has embraced pastry cooking, so the forecast is for more pies...

Weather wise it's warm and sunny, like 9 degrees, holy cheeses! I'm riding my bike tomorrow and I mightn't even get iced knuckles. We booked train tickets to Rotterdam, three days free train travel. Where shall we go?

I'd be happy to go anywhere, even just back to this store, despite being overwhelmed with random desires to buy tiny trees and woodgrain paper, I walked away empty-handed and convinced of another good reason to live in Berlin...

In case you hadn't noticed I am generally, and particularly excited lately... So it's hard to sit down and knit this rainbow I'm trying to knit...
